What is Epoxy Glass? Properties, Advantages, and Applications

2025/11/6

Epoxy glass is a laminated material made from glass fiber and epoxy resin. It is harder and more heat resistance than fabric Bakelite. It also has excellent insulation, electrical resistance, and mechanical strength.

Handling and Machining Considerations

Epoxy glass is brittle and prone to chipping. Cutting or machining generates fine dust that can be harmful if inhaled. Use a dust extraction system or proper ventilation when processing.

Appearance

  • Surfaces: Top and bottom surfaces are smooth and glossy.

  • Color: Green on surfaces; cut edges appear whitish.
